My love of hostas amongst all kinds of flowers. And, of course, vegetable gardening.

When growing vines in your garden, make sure that they have plenty of room and things to climb, or they just might try to escape!
Make time to just relax and enjoy your garden. My favorite time is spring when everything awakens, colors are popping and I’m serenaded by the frogs. It’s such a beautiful melody to complement the wonderful fragrances of lilacs and peonies floating through the air!
I make use of my balcony and grow vertically, as well as horizontally. During the season you will see climbing Malabar spinach, trailing fresh herbs, succulents and cacti, all interspersed with veggies and houseplants. My Zen Space is complete with a reading nook, candles and fairy lights. I almost don’t want to come back inside!
Work smart and save time to relax and enjoy your garden!
A water feature in my garden brings a bit of zen to my otherwise crazy life. It also attracts birds, insects and interest from my neighbors.
This is my secret garden, where I get lost in the dirt and plants. It’s a mixture of perennials, annuals and shrubs.
I grow lots of Love Lies Bleeding, a long, red-tasseled Amaranth, to make my vases of cut flowers into a conversation piece. It’s such an easy flower to grow. Like a hosta, it seems to survive just about anything. It is also an extremely vibrant red/magenta for a pop of color in your landscape.
I’ve been digging up sections of lawn for over 20 years. I discovered the ecological value of natives maybe 10 years ago so that’s become my focus. Once established, natives require less maintenance, but the challenge is to find plants that play well together—meaning they’ll share the available root space/nutrients and not overwhelm their neighbors.
Growing flowers is a partnership with Mother Nature.
