Think Spring!
I love easy-to-grow plants. Peonies are one of my favorites. I have also planted a food forest and tried straw bale gardening in my front yard. I planted prairie along the back wall of my house. My hardest lesson is learning where the sunlight is just right for each plant on my small residential lot.
This is a passionflower from my garden. The photo was taken in Sept. 2020. These are not supposed to come back if left outside all winter. I super mulched it in the late fall and it came back in the late spring and produced many runners, too. 💜
My gardens are always a “work in progress.”
Our small perennial yard provides many relaxing hours for us and our feathered and furry friends to enjoy.
Saying good morning to each part of my garden allows me to delight in their life cycle and notice the evolution of each plant’s beauty.
My favorite flower is the rose. I enjoy my rose bushes. Some years the roses are better than others due to the Japanese beetle infestations. This is one of the buds that made it last summer.
You can grow virtually any plant you want in the Upper Midwest. You just have to give some of them extra special loving care in order to make them survive and thrive.
I just love my garden.
